1954/1962 Jaguar XKSS Lynx Continuation
Chassis 886968
The Jaguar XKSS, derived from the legendary D-Type racing program, is one of the most coveted Jaguars ever produced. Originally created to meet racing regulations that required more D-Types to be built than could be sold, Jaguar transformed their race car into a street-legal version, known as the XKSS. Modifications included the addition of a full-width windscreen and other features to make the D-Type road-ready.
The XKSS gained further notoriety when Hollywood icon Steve McQueen purchased one in 1958, forever cementing its mystique and appeal. This particular car, a Lynx Continuation, was built by the same master coachbuilders who constructed the original D-Types and XKSS models, ensuring a faithful recreation of the car’s legendary design and performance. Lynx meticulously crafted this vehicle from Jaguar’s production E-Type, blending history and craftsmanship in a continuation that celebrates the XKSS’s enduring legacy.
